Using a beginner's synthesizer, Axel created his first song and incorporated it into his DJ set. Luckily, one of the "ravers" listening to his set was Jens Thele, the manager for Scooter. Jens Thele requested that Axel polish up his tune and submit it to be used in a "Trance Nation" compilation CD. It was eventually accepted, and Jens later brought Axel to the Scooter studio, where he become acquainted with Rick J. Jordan, a member of Scooter. They started talking and within a half-hour, Axel was offered a job as an intern in the studio; Axel willingly accepted. Axel showed an impressive enthusiasm for his work, and when Ferris left Scooter in 1998, Rick immediately asked if Axel would like to be the new third member, to which he replied positively. Axel would be the DJ for the group from 1998 until 2002, where he decided to leave the band for a variety of reasons. He released his first solo single, "Close To You", the following year. Axel currently plays the role of DJ in various German clubs, and also continues to produce as a solo act and with others in varied projects. |
