Let me tell you a bit about this strange site, and why it has existed for over five years now, while managing to remain within the confines of the most obscure corners of the interweb. This is random.access, named not only for the memory thereof, but also as an indicator of exactly the kind of useful useless information you will find here. I don't have a set schedule of what I am going to post next; it's whatever comes to mind at random, though admittedly my mind is often too focused on video games. Admittedly, I tried a schedule once for this site in late 2008, but it really fell flat and I ended up floating way off course. However, it's not ENTIRELY random -- if it was indeed random, there would be pandemonium!

Featured here are a number of things. First and foremost, as you may come to experience, are the reviews. And how plentiful they are! By the end of 2009, after I conglomerated all my reviews for games, music, and movies, I learned that I had developed almost 200 full-length reviews (dagnabbit, only 199 as of December 31, 2009!). The reviews are perhaps the specialty of the house, so to speak. I love to rag on a terrible game or awful album, although there are definitely perks to discussing excellence as well. But there are other things you simply must experience, such as the Top 10 lists and the fictitious adventures of the sightless detective, Blind Man Soy! There is plenty of great stuff here now, and as always, more shall flow forth!

I started this site way back in September 2005 as a mere seed of my own efforts, but in the past 5 years, it has since grown from a few small articles and a measly couple of reviews to a relatively encyclopaedic proportion, and I have no plans to stop it now. Even as we speak, I have new ideas on content to add. Yet unlike many other sites, random.access has remained well-hidden from the public eye. Why is that? I really can't say. It's not as though past website projects have been phenomenally successful either. But with a couple of new affiliations this year, maybe things will get better. And of course, word of mouth on your part never hurts!

In any case, I welcome you to random.access and I hope that you have a good time.
