One of the most interesting of the classic unlicensed developers is Wisdom Tree. They were the creators of unlicensed Christian games for such platforms as the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis (all of the mentioned systems will be covered in this article). Of course, Nintendo and Sega alike did not want religious games to grace their systems, so Wisdom Tree was formed in 1989 to create such games for Christians who wanted a change from mindless blast-'em-ups and such. Since they could not make the games by Nintendo and Sega standards, they had to make them without the companies' permission (I'm not sure if a Christian organization should have done that). The following are brief synopses of the games published by Wisdom Tree for the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis consoles. Several of the NES games were ported to Sega Genesis with (slightly) updated graphics, so they will be covered at the same time.
